On October 24, 2023, the University of Science and Technology - University of Danang (UST-UD) had the honor of hosting a delegation from the Ulysseus Alliance for a visit and discussions related to the ULYSSEUS Forum - Danang on educational and research innovation for smart cities (UDERIF 2023) themed "Smart Education - Artificial Intelligence in Education and Smart Cities."

Based on the Memorandum of Understanding signed in June 2023 between the University of Da Nang and the Ulysseus European University Alliance (hereafter referred to as Ulysseus Alliance), which includes: University of Côte d’Azur (France), University of Seville (Spain), University of Genoa (Italy), Technical University of Košice (Slovakia), MCI Management Center Innsbruck (Austria), Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences (Finland), University of Montenegro (Montenegro), and University of Münster (Germany), with the aim of implementing comprehensive, effective, and long-term cooperation with the Ulysseus Alliance to enhance the quality of education, scientific research, international cooperation, promote entrepreneurial activities, and foster innovation; on October 24, 2023, the University of Science and Technology (UST-UDN) – University of Da Nang had the honor of receiving a delegation from the Ulysseus Alliance for a visit and collaborative discussions, participating in the ULYSSEUS Forum – Da Nang on educational cooperation and innovative research for smart cities (UDERIF 2023) themed "Smart Education - Artificial Intelligence in Education and Smart Cities".

From UST-UD, attendees included TS. Phan Bảo An – Chairman of the Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Cao Thọ - Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Võ Trung Hùng and Dr. Nguyễn Linh Nam – Vice-Rectors, along with leadership representatives from various affiliated units and faculties, faculty members from different departments, and research groups.
At the plenary session between the representatives of the Ulysseus Alliance delegation and the University of Science and Technology (UST-UDN), Associate Professor Phan Cao Thọ delivered a welcoming speech expressing gratitude and honor for the high-level delegation from the Ulysseus Alliance visiting and working with the university.

During the plenary session, leaders, managers, experts, scientists, and research groups from the Ulysseus Alliance and the University of Science and Technology (UST-UDN) exchanged ideas, introduced potential needs and strengths to guide cooperation. Research groups presented and discussed in-depth topics, research themes, and projects within their fields.
From UST-UDN's side, several reports were presented including: "From EMVITET to Artificial Intelligence: Innovating Learning Methods in Higher Education"; and "Research and Development of Smart Urban Traffic Management System Using Digital Twin Technology."

Delegates discussed various topics of mutual interest, proposing ideas and directions, and suggesting implementation solutions to share, connect, and enhance cooperation opportunities in the future. This will serve as the foundation for relevant parties, including the University of Da Nang in general and the University of Science and Technology in particular, to continue building, proposing, and implementing specific international cooperation projects and initiatives with the Ulysseus Alliance. These efforts aim to meet shared needs and benefits in education, research, innovation, and entrepreneurship fields.

In June 2023, a high-level delegation from the University of Da Nang, led by Associate Professor Nguyen Ngoc Vu - Director of the University of Da Nang, along with the Presidents and Council Chairs of member universities, including leadership from the University of Science and Technology (UST-UDN), visited and collaborated with the University of Côte d’Azur. This event marked the preparation phase for completing the necessary documentation to consider admitting the University of Da Nang into the Ulysseus Alliance, following the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding in June 2023 at the University of Côte d’Azur.
