During the two days of June 5-6, 2023, the Steering Committee of the Collaborative Higher Education Innovation Project (USAID PHER project) organized the Science of Teaching and Guiding Student Success was able to manage and solve Awarded membership to the University of Danang with further direct guidance from Professor Rebecca Torstrick from Indiana University.
“Teaching Student Success Course” is a challenging activity in the PHER project. This is a project supported by USAID of the United States, in which Indiana University is the main partner in developing and implementing the project along with three major universities in Vietnam: Hanoi National University, Ho Chi Minh City National University. Ho Chi Minh and The Univerisy of Da Nang . Participating and organizing the course in Da Nang were members of the Project Steering Committee and the group of researchers based on the project development of the University of Danang. Among them, the University of Technology and Education sent 02 persons to participate in this course: Dr. Bui He Thong and Dr. Pham Thanh Phong.

At the course, a group of graduate students from the UTE were instructed to develop an outline of sections aimed at learners' success, promoting student interest and active participation, and improving student achievement. brings high efficiency in the next work, develops students' skills in the teaching process. Dr. Rebecca Torstrick has organized many training activities for students involved in course design, assessment method development, the science of learning, and how to make a good first impression. This activity contributes to changing students' awareness as well as their ability to approach teaching towards student success.
Team work
In addition to two days of face-to-face learning in Da Nang, the school's teaching team also participates in weekly online lessons with Professor Lamia Scherzinger from Indiana University. According to the plan, knowledge from the Course will be transferred to lecturers of universities participating in the project implementation.
