On May 29, 2024, the University of Danang – University of Technology and Education held a signing ceremony for a cooperation agreement with SMC Corporation Vietnam Co., Ltd.
Attending the ceremony, representatives from SMC Corporation Vietnam Co., Ltd. included: Mr. Gerald Ho – CEO; Mr. Văn Viết Huấn – Branch Manager in Da Nang; and Mr. Huỳnh Trần Hoàng – Senior Engineer in Da Nang. From the university side, the leadership included: Assoc. Prof. Phan Cao Thọ – Rector, along with representatives from various departments and faculties, as well as faculty members and students of the university.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Phan Cao Thọ shared: “Business cooperation is a key activity that is especially emphasized in the university’s development strategy. In recent years, the university has strengthened collaboration with both domestic and international businesses, receiving support from many companies in providing internships for students, hiring graduates, as well as offering modern facilities and equipment to support teaching and learning for both faculty members and students at the university.” Assoc. Prof. Phan Cao Thọ expressed his hope that the university and SMC Corporation Vietnam Co., Ltd. would have more practical and concrete collaborative activities in the near future.

Mr. Gerald Ho shared: “In addition to our business activities, SMC Corporation Vietnam Co., Ltd. is also committed to supporting community development initiatives. We are very pleased to collaborate with the University of Danang – University of Technology and Education, supporting the university's students in accessing advanced equipment, which helps them get closer to the ever-changing real-world working environment.”

At the ceremony, Mr. Văn Viết Huấn and Dr. Nguyễn Minh Tiến – Deputy Head of the Department of Research Management and International Cooperation at the university, each provided an overview of the operational characteristics of their respective organizations.
After the discussions, both parties agreed to sign a cooperation agreement to leverage and strengthen their respective capabilities and advantages. The agreement aims to effectively utilize potential resources such as facilities, human resources, and expertise in the field of education and training.
