On February 5, 2026, the Division of Electronics and Telecommunications, Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, The University of Danang – University of Technology and Education (UD-UTE), in collaboration with FPT Semiconductor Joint Stock Company (FPT Semiconductor) – Da Nang, organized an industry visit combined with a career orientation program for students majoring in Semiconductor Integrated Circuit (IC) Design. The event forms part of the University's ongoing efforts to bridge the gap between academic learning and industrial practice, providing students with greater motivation for their studies while helping them develop a clear career roadmap in the rapidly growing semiconductor industry.
During the visit, students had the opportunity to observe the operations and professional working environment at one of Vietnam's leading semiconductor design companies. Beyond classroom learning, they gained first-hand insights into the integrated circuit design process, electronic design automation (EDA) tools, and the corporate culture of a high-tech enterprise. The experience enabled students to better understand the practical requirements of the profession and the competencies expected of future IC design engineers.
A highlight of the program was a panel discussion featuring industry experts and UD-UTE alumni currently working at FPT Semiconductor. Their practical experiences and career journeys provided valuable guidance and inspiration for participating students. The discussion also addressed a wide range of topics, including the importance of soft skills, English-language proficiency, and specialized knowledge in areas such as IC Design, Physical Design, and Verification. “Opportunities for young Vietnamese engineers have never been greater, particularly in Da Nang, an emerging semiconductor technology hub. The key is to continuously strengthen your technical expertise while investing in professional skills and foreign language proficiency,” shared an expert from FPT Semiconductor.
Representatives of FPT Semiconductor reaffirmed the company's commitment to welcoming talented students from UD-UTE through a variety of collaborative programs. These include internship opportunities that allow students to participate directly in real-world projects, short-term specialized training courses designed to help students quickly adapt to industry requirements, and full-time employment opportunities for graduates with outstanding academic performance and strong professional potential.
